In 2012 the Papakura Business Association decided to establish a CCTV network in our Town Centre to support our BID paying retailers who were troubled by petty crime on the streets which ultimately affected their businesses.

A security firm was contracted to install, commission and maintain the network of 12 cameras with 24 views that transmitted images to a central server.

Andy Odgers was the technician assigned to the roll out. He was meticulous in preparation of quotes and keeping all parties involved in the procurement process informed, and up to date with any cost variations, or any changes to timing schedules or any matter that might affect the project. Andy is reliable, honest and has worked with the PBA with an integrity which is to be admired in an employee.

Over the last three years there have been several upgrades to the system including additional cameras, new improved “Milestone” software and a high capacity server installed. In each of these iterations Andy assumed the role of Project Manager in addition to his technical role.

My name is John Shaw and I have been the CCTV Convenor since 2012 and have established a sound working relationship with Andy over this period. If you have any other queries or questions, please feel free to contact me at tcm@papakura.co.nz.

Kind regards
